Evelyn May, a Benteau Oceanis 423, is one of our RYA Training Vessels alongside her sister-ship 'Ellen May'. They are both great examples of how to learn in style, with three ensuite cabins and a convertable saloon berth she techniqually can sleep up to eight guests. However we only ever take up to 5 students on our sailing courses, making the yacht a comfortable place to learn.

Down below we have a seating area comfortable for eight people, during the summer most of our lessons are done in the cockpit however some times we will gather around the table to discuss navigation and other skills. Next to the seating is a good size chart table where passage plans can be made.
The galley contains two good size sinks, perfect for washing up on an angle. As well as a huge fridge, which is water cooled, keeping our provisions cool all summer.
Each cabin has its own heads (bathroom), as well as good storage space for your kit, whilst you are onboard. When packing, if possible bring a stuffable bag or a hard one that you can unpack and leave at our base.
Safety precausions are taken seriously on all our yachts so we have above the required amount of firextinguishers, spares and tools onboard.
As she is a training yacht, you will find a whole bookshelf of useful reading material and guides, as well as a few good novels for after hours.
Combining her fully batterned, slab reefed Mainsail and a 120% Genoa with her bluewater designed hull means she performs well in any condition we might experience during a course. Having a yacht that performs well means that we can go futher on courses, reaching as many great places as we can, as well as building up those valuable miles and experiences.
Whilst she is a great yacht to sail, she is also a great yacht to relax on. With a generous cockpit area and deck space you will be able to learn in comfort.
During the courses you will also need to master the skills of mooring a yacht in many differnt ways. Evelyn May is perfectly designed for training as all the controls are easily reached from the helm position. Inside her lockers we have long lines and all the tools you will need to be taught the best way to moor.
As well as the normal safety equipment you expect to see onboard a charter yacht, Evelyn May has a range of teaching equipment and aids so we can deliver the RYA sail training courses to a high standard. Onboard, we also carry a 3m dinghy and outboard. During the course our intructors will show all of the crew how to operate this properly.
Evelyn May is available mainly for RYA Sail Training Courses, from Competent Crew to Yachtmaster Preparation, however you maybe able to charter as bareboat or for skippered charter providing we have availability. Those that have trained or chartered on Evelyn May before, have often wanted to charter her again as she definately leaves a soft spot after a weeks sailing on her.
If you have any questions before you come out to Corfu, or while you are there, first check out our Yacht Guide. A small guide on some of the yacht's operating systems and features. Or of course you can get in touch with one of our team in Corfu who will talk you through any questions about any of the yachts.
