Bareboat Yacht Charters Corfu

Bareboat Yacht Charters Corfu

Exclusively Yours!

Bareboat yacht chartering, just as it sounds, is for guests who want to skipper a boat themselves (providing you have RYA Day Skipper or ICC qualifications.) Charter guests are responsible for all aspects of running the yacht, including sailing, navigating, anchoring, provisioning, cooking, and most importantly, having fun.

If you have the experience, an adventurous spirit, and wish to sail where ever you want when you want, then a bareboat charter is for you. This type of charter provides the utmost in freedom and privacy. The agenda is your own.

At No Stress Yachting we prefer that the bareboat skipper to have some previous experience on a boat of similar size and at least one competent crew member. If you are still unsure of your sailing abilities/a little rusty, or simply want the knowledge of a local skipper, you can charter a bareboat and hire a professional english speaking skipper at a daily rate, then continue the rest of your charter on your own when you feel comfortable.

Before arrival and when you get here our staff will take you through the yacht and route plans to make sure you are comfortable before you head out sailing.

Bareboat sailing

Important Information

Greek port authorities require that the skipper should have a sailing licence to charter a yacht in Greece. This licence can be:

ICC - (International Certificate of Competence)
RYA Day Skipper
ASA 104 - Bareboat Skipper
Germany - Sportbootführerschein
Belgium - Algemeen Stuurbrevet/ Brevet de conduite général
France - Le Permis Plaisance

We as you to send a copy of your licence for our records before you arrive and we recommend that you bring the licence with you incase you are asked to show it to the port authorities.

Before you take out a yacht with us, we want to know you are capable of handling it. This is not just for our benefit, you will not enjoy the trip if you are not comfortable with skippering the yacht. Before you get out to Corfu we just ask for a brief description of what and where you have sailed before. If we feel you do not have the experience required we may suggest you take one of our RYA Instructors with you for a Refresher Day. If you are a little rusty this is also a great option. Having them onboard for the first day puts you and your crew at ease while you get use to the yacht as well as learning a few tips on mooring and where to visit.

If we find you are not capable of handling the yacht then we will insist on you taking a skipper onboard for the week for the cost of 150 Euros per day.

It is also required that there is a second individual onboard that has sailing experience as well as the skipper. If they do not have a licence (RYA Competent Crew or above) then they will required to fill out a declaration to say they have sailing experience, on arrival.
